Hall News

Thanks to all who attended another hugely successful quiz night. This time the boys took their revenge with an all male team of Andrew Lake, Chris Sturdy, Paul Cooper, Paul Wilman & Ian Peckitt being victorious! We also managed to raise an amazing £456.

The last film night, “The Black Swan” had a good audience, although it was not a full house like “The King’s Speech”, we still raised £133. Don’t forget our last film before the summer is on 14th April and we will be showing “Never Let Me Go” starring Keira Knightley.

Here are some more dates for you diary:

14th April - Film Night – Never Let Me Go

29th April - Royal Wedding Street Party in the Village Hall. The hall will be open from 10am til 4pm with the Wedding being shown on a big screen on the stage. The hall will be set up for a street party and we will be selling teas, coffees and cakes. Please feel free to bring you own picnics to enjoy in the hall, on the patio or on the green.

12th June - Barns Green ladies stoolball team take on other teams from Sussex in their annual league competition. And this year it is Barns Green’s turn to run the event. So please come along and show your support. We will be selling teas, coffees, cakes and sandwiches in the Village Hall.

26th June - The ever popular Stoolball Fun-Day returns. So get your team organised and reserve your place in this popular event. (Max 10 teams) Again teas, coffees, cakes, and sandwiches will be available in the Village Hall.

10th July - Calling all children/parents/grandparents why not take a walk through the beautiful countryside that surrounds our village, in the Village Hall Treasure/Scavenger Hunt. There will also be a couple of activities along the way. And afterwards why not bring a picnic and enjoy some games on Jubilee field. Or just relax and watch the cricket match being played in memory of Mike (Barny) Barnard. Adults £2 children £1 maximum 6 in a team and the only stipulation is each team must have at least 2 under 16.

Finally we regret that there will be NO Autumn quiz. However before you chastise the committee for not putting on this ever popular event, we welcome back the 2011 Barns Green Xbox Rally challenge with all the thrills and spills of the rally from the comfort of the village hall. So if you think you have the skills to take this years title or just want a good evening’s entertainment put the 26th November in your diaries. Book early to avoid disappointment, full details will be published in the BIG MAG over the next few months.
